It all started with the schwinn collegiate in the following pictures. I work near a village hall that has a drop off center. I noticed a beautiful old schwinn, so I called a women I work with and told her to take a look. I have been trying to find a bike like this for her, but she is very short and the bike was too big.

So, I brought it home to see if my 13 y.o. daughter would be interested (eeewww! NO! I don't want an old lady bike!). So I cleaned it up and talked to my wife about which of her friends or sisters we could give it to. When she saw it cleaned up she said, let's keep it and put on a basket for the dog and some flags and make it her around town bike. Then I thought I'd love to have a bike like this for myself. I started looking on ebay and craigslist and I found a matching Schwinn collegiate in my area for $100.

But times being what they are, and being faced with possibility of losing my job soon, I decided to pass. But I was bitten by the bug. I started revisiting the bike forum and old roads and I remembered that in the past I really liked the style of Raleigh bicycles. Then I saw the ad for this Humber, and for free no less! It is a little rough, it definitely has been used the seat is broken and the rear fender is dented but it shifts smoothly and rides well. I think I will just clean it up, try to stop the rust and enjoy it.
