I have my camelbak story... actually I have lots of falling stories this is just one in a series...
Was trying to navigate a rock garden, actually more big boulders and I knew as soon as I dropped off this rock I was going over. The fork sunk in and then lauched me right over the handlebars. I did I bet two rolls and came down on my back and continued to roll. I know for a fact the camelbak saved my back from being all bruised up (I was wearing a MULE and it was full). Unfortunately this is one of my bad elbow episodes. I did somewhere in the fray crack my left lebow on a rock and it opened up and bled... well it was gross and required 6 stiches to close (I still had to come down this long, steep trail and ride out another 6 miles all covered in blood - literally elbow to toe. I bet I was a sight to see!). Another reason why I now wear a pad on my left elbow. Anyway back to the camelbak, 'sides just being great for carrying enough water, your tools, food, etc. it can save your back from injury.
