old thread, but needs to be bumped.
this is funny because this mirrors me pretty much exactly. i volunteered at a place called BICAS, a bicycle co-op, and they have this thing where if you do 14 hours, you can build a bike.
so i got the fourteen hours done, and im looking through the frames hanging up, and a maroon frame catches my eye. its a suteki 10 speed. the paint is chipped, but its otherwise pretty good and has a cool insignia on the seat tube.
right now im in the process of making it into a fixie as well ( my first). i had to replace the fork because it was bent; most of the parts will be free, but ill have to spend some money on the rear wheel considering they probably dont get that many fixed wheel donations.
