Remember that more expensive pedals (from the same brand) often have better quality bearings (easier to adjust, smoother running, more durable, etc.) as well as better quality materials. I think the cheapest Crank pedals are disposable - the bearings cannot be serviced and the whole pedal must be discarded when the bearings go bad.
