OP - one of my regular reasons to stop at the LBS is to see if they're 'blowin' out' any cycling shoes in my size. It seems like they get tired of boxing and straightening up the older styles/odd sizes and eventually mark them down. The big benefit to this - beyond the price - is getting to try them on before I buy. I don't often find anything worth buying - but when I do, I snap them up. Of course, you aren't going to find Sidi Genius, etc. in the bargain pile - but like I say, it's worth a look.
