In some ways it makes more sense than the Shimano Airlines constant-loss system. Although I would think some sort of multi-position solenoid (if that's possible) would be better/lighter than a motor setup. I could really see it being the schizz for shifting a gearbox - - with a little wireless shifter pod

Could you just see the fun some hacker could have with a trackside transceiver?
