I'm looking at buying a CAAD9 5 at LBS for $1299 + tax = ~$1375. I'd like to get a bike for about this much total with Ultegra components, but I think it will cost more to build myself. Where is a good place to find a frame? Can I buy the CAAD9 frame somewhere new?

Here's my guestimate for a build it yourself w/o pedals. Can I do better than the 18.5lbs CAAD9 for wt? I'm looking at AL frame with carbon fork. Not sure if I can get the frame for $500.
