Just went to the shop to look at some Tektro 726's. These levers are supposed to be used WITH another brake lever no? Like the old "safety" levers on the 10-speeds from the 80's?

I was looking at it and it looks like I could just hang the little cable nut on the outside and it would work fine. Is this how you guys are running these?
