heya,

well i just got back from the second days of racing.

on saturday the road race was canceled because everything was flooded on the course, what they did was change it to a crit. It was tons of fun, because it was pouring so hard, after a bit i didnt feel a single negative emotion about rain and felt absolutely fine and warm, i was completely soaked.
It was my first C race and i spent 4 laps trying to bridge a gap solo between the main group and the breakaway group.
After getting to the point of tunnel vision i finally did it and sticked to their wheel. I was happy. At the finish i didnt even sprint and got ahead of em to hold the second place in the pack by just TTing. I thought the finish was earlier than it actually was and stopped pedaling so some guy got ahead of me.
I was ecstatic, thinking i just got 3rd in my first C race, however apparently there was an even earlier breakaway group so i got 7th.

I started the race thinking that i am barely gonna hold onto Cs so i didnt even care about what is going on in the front and was juts taking it slow and careful.

The second day was very cold and very windy, TTT started at 8:30am and it was my first one, i was doing it for Bs. It was actually tons of fun and i did well i believe because TT style of riding is my strength as i can see from every race ive done so far.

My road race rolled around at 12pm, i thought i should stick with the front as early as i can based on yesterday. It was a 20mi race and i thought i could stick with it the whole time. I got with the front people and on the end of first lap out of 3, on a turn that seemed way less sharp than it was, i simply slid out as i was trying to keep away from the main pack by going as fast as i can.

It wasn't fun sliding and watching pieces of my shifter fly. I got up with a completely numb arm and stood around chit chatting with a marshal. I decided to finally start riding and to finish the course by myself. I actually caught up to some people who were dropped and passed them, and i was ecstatic that the C2 field is not gonna catch up to me (i was in C1), by the very end almost at the finish line they caught up to me so i just finished with them.

Overall i am very happy for my 1st and 2nd C races

damage - wheel out of true i think, shifter, bibs , knicker, arm warmer

very happy though really, i was in Ds last weekend and placed well, then i moved up to Cs and did well anyway. I can see that i wont have too much of a problem actually hanging with the pack.

What i also learned is that i have absolutely HORRIBLE bike handing skills. I suck at holding my line kind of and i don't even know how to turn right apparently. At the same time it was an awesome weekend, being drenched and crashing, and is def giving me a load of inspiration.

That is all

Columbia next week
