Loading and unloading is done from ground level and is much quicker. And there's room for 7 bikes in a Tacoma with space in the front of the bed for humans, dogs, or gear.

I drive like an old lady, but I have to take Highways to trail heads sometimes. I also typically go alone so one bike with the tailgate method doesn't work so well as when there are more then one bike they hold each other stable.
