pricematching and other questions
i'm buying a campy centaur ultra-torque carbon crankset. at pbk.com i can get that for $272 and the cups for $16 (free shipping). at universal, after attempting a pricematch, they discounted the cups to $25 and the crankset is $292.
after coupons and shipping, the total from universal is $283. the total from pbk is $288.
i'm leaning towards pbk because universal has started to tick me off. i've requested at least half a dozen price matches from them (over the last 6 months or so) and they've never met them. they often don't even come close. i requested a pricematch on a sram force crankset and the response/coupon code they gave listed the price $40 HIGHER than their original price.
my concerns about ordering from pbk revolve around them being located overseas. from what i've read, they're very good in terms of shipping to the u.s. however, i'm concerned about cost/hassle involved with returns. also, they have a disclaimer about actual cost fluctuating due to different exchange rates used by different credit card companies. lastly, i've read where some who have ordered from north america had to pay additional "customs" taxes. is that only in canada or does that occur for u.s. customers as well?
