When I used to live on Baxter, one street over from Fargo and just as steep, on rainy days I used to see rear wheel drive vehicles lose traction half way to near the top and slowly back all the way down to the bottom. Only way to make it up to the top was to have good momentum and not to slow down til you reach the top.
