A few weeks ago I posted pictures of this bike trying to get help identifying it, but had no luck.

When I finally got around to taking it out the track last night, within about 2 minutes of being there, a guy taps me on the shoulder and says "hey, that used to be my bike!" He told me it was a Porter before he repainted it and it was made here in Vancouver, Canada. And that was about all he could remember. It was obviously just one of many many bikes he's owned in his life.
Anyway, does anyone know anything about Porter frames? I've so far read a bit about a Hugh Porter in England and a Dave Porter in New Mexico. I'd love some more information if anyone has any. Perhaps what colour these bikes used to be painted, if the builder is still around and contactable - anything really.
