villaen,
we (SJW) offer rides at varied levels/speeds. my sunday ride last sunday was about 7.5 miles, 35 minutes, in windy 31 degrees, with an all you want breakfast (Marines/$7) at the end. the rides usually aren't this short with option of massive food/carb reloads! my rides are draftless, more senic, we ride together at average 12 to 16 miles per hour with breaks (usually 1 break p/hour), c to c+ pace.
another member leads rides during the week and saturday/sunday about 50 miles each, 18 + miles per hour, b to b+ pace. his breaks are more sparse.
i learned how to ride in groups and bicycle maintanance (you should own a frame pump, patch kit, basic tools) through SJW and can show you how to use them if needed. i have drafted and time trialed,, prefer the slower, "smell the roses, see the area" pace. our centuries are at your own pace (sagged).
you can, or anyone else interested, send me private message here at BF for further details of rides in this area.
