Let's just say, I'm a complete noob at clipless myself. I haven't even ridden with clips before. However, I just got a new road bike, complete with spd clipless shoes and pedals. 1 day later, and it's perfect. I fell on the first few times mostly because I've been so heavily conditioned to just lift the foot off the pedal if I need to stop. However, it's already automatic now, just two rides later. Highly recommended for a beginner
