I would call or go to the shop and explain your issues with the fit on the 7100 and would say that for more aggressive riding, the 7.2 is a far better choice. Perhaps they will be able to come up with a better deal for you if you decided to upgrade.

My old 7500 (a '99) came to me configured as a comfort bike but has seen a few changes... it is more like the FX series bikes in geometry (there was no FX in '99) and works really well as a road/commuter/tourer.
