Yesterday evening we rode the length of OC Fisher dam and back. The dam is about 6.5 miles long and has a nice jogging/biking road on top of it. It's usually not too crowded, especially after the first 2 or 3 miles, and there's no cars.
It's the highest point for miles around, so the view is among the best in the county - to the east it looks over the city - you can spot all the major buildings, the university, downtown, etc. To the west past the lake is the rolling hills of west Texas - on a clear day you can probably see 30 or 40 miles. Our ride last night started at about 7:00, so on the way home we were treated to a spectacular sunset, with the orange light reflecting off the lake, and to the left we could see the lights coming on around the city.
I'm still on the prowl for other interesting rides in the area....
