Hi all,
This is my very first post! (*joy*)
I did see the other post below about first-time use of clipless pedals but I thought I would start a new thread because I have a specific question.
I would class myself as a serious MTBer (50+ miles in a ride is quite normal) - and for years and years I've been doing this with good ol' toe clips and plimsoles. (Yes, plimsoles even in the British winter at sub-zero temperatures!)
I have recently bought a new road bike to compliment the mountain bike (so I can go even further and faster!) and it comes with SPDs ... so I have decided to give in and get SPD shoes.
The trouble is that I have gotten so used to riding in plimsoles that all the SPD shoes I've tried on seem so huge, heavy and clunky! It feels like I'm wearing rocks on my feet ... Can anyone recommend a very lightweight SPD shoe that doesn't have a fully-rigid sole? (I don't like the fully rigid soles, they're a pain in the arse to walk in). Ideally I'd like a stiffened plimsole with an SPD attachment
Cheers,
Mike.
