My ~92 Specialized Epic Carbon has Shimano 105 throughout, except Shimano RX100 hubs. Setup is 7-sp cassette, but frame spacing is 130mm. I'm assuming that's because by then Shimano had already introduced 8-sp in Ultegra and/or DA, but 105 was still at 7sp. A few questions to those who are familiar with this 7-sp/130mm setup:
- Is that an 8/9sp compatible freehub? Or does it have the 6/7sp freehub normally associated with 126mm hubs?
- Is there enough room in there to throw in an 8-sp cassette without moving spacers from left side of axle to right side and re-dishing the wheel?
