Bikes: 2007 Giant TCR, Frankenbike Mtn. bike that I built to my own spec., 1987 Peugot PB 16 fixed gear conversion

First real ride on the new rig...a review :D

So today I took my new whip down to my girlfriends place and home again. (about 18 km`s rt) It was still a short ride but more than I had a chance to ride it the rest of the weekend.

The weather was nice, the sun was shining (at least on the way there!) and the roads are finally starting to dry up a bit, so not having fenders wasn`t a problem.

For a race bike (2007 Giant TCR) it is surprisingly comfortable. After riding a super heavy department store frankenbike for so long, the lightness was absolutely heavenly. Even though on the ride home I had a crazy headwind to contend with, I still managed a pretty respectable speed and my legs felt golden. The bike itself sits at about 19 pounds compared to the 35 or so my old bike was.
I love this bike, and while I still plan on picking up a Surly LHT before winter commuting starts up again (plus I want to do a ride down through the states in summer 2009) I think my little light racer is going to make for one hell of a commuter/racer. Plus I plan on using it for a couple of centuries later this summer.

Anyways just wanted to share my first experience on my new bike with everyone,
Have a great night!
