Chapel Hill recently restriped a street to add a bike lane thusly:

TWO LEFT LANES - car lanes
THEN - bike lane
THEN - bus lane on the far right side
Bikes are being asked to ride between cars (to their left) and buses (to their right).
The problem I see: cars turning right from the intersecting street will naturally turn into the bus lane and then, if they're attentive, will realize they're in a bus lane and then merge left, across the bike lane, into the car lane.


NO WAY would I ride in that bike lane.
