There's going to be a lot more telecommuting, that's for sure.

We need a $5/gallon tax on gasoline, phased in over 10 years, to fund basic research into nuclear fusion. No company is going to do that basic research because it's too incredibly expensive and the payoff isn't likely to be soon enough to justify to the shareholders. It's going to have to be govt-sponsored research. Once we crack that nut, a whole bunch of things become easier.
