Ha! I was using my aluminum 105 bike to go to the gym and for other short errands but I, too, have decided to stop abusing it with lock-ups and risking losing components to thieves.
Now I need to find a road bike that's simultaneously enjoyable to ride and is less attractive to thieves. A "worthy" beater, I guess..
