Radial lacing is the weakest as far lateral (side to side) stiffness goes, which is what you can get with out of the saddle climbing. The more crosses you have in the lacing pattern, the more lateral stiffness.
Between 2 and 3 cross? Not going to make a difference on the front wheel.
