on another note, from what i remember it's 75km one way to north whitby from my place (roncesvalles) last time i checked.
I personally don't care if you want to ride fixed or not, I've already ridden there twice on my roadie, so I figured I'd step up the challenge to myself (and my buddy Dave who rode with me once on his MTB wants to ride there fixed too). I'm not interested in doing the ride in one day fixed, I just want to go there, camp out have a few beers or something then come back the next day - it's a long ride, but doesn't have to be balls out (I certainly didn't ride balls out before).

75k one way? Hmm. I've only got Google Maps to go by, avoiding highways it claims 53.8km (Roncesvalles/Marion to Brock/Mary in Whitby) which goes across Dundas->Kingston->Lawrence/Port Union to skip out the highway dealy there, then back onto Kingston Rd.

I think I'll do a trial run next weekend and see how it goes and what the actual numbers are on the odometer and see how the terrain is, it's been around 2 years since I rode that far east.. plus winter = crap roads.

Lacrosse was fun, a LOT more people watching than I ever had thought - there was even a fight in the stands over a stray ball
