One of the nicest things is the tubes can survive a good hit, Alu tubes are damaged often during hits that really just scar steel. Also your rear triangle can be bent back if damaged (I love chromoly.)
Enjoy what you have, ride lots and at some point probably your riding skills will exceed the cycle you have now.
Then go SHOPPING!
I think it a bad idea to go for the 'bling, bling' bike untill you know what you like or need. No use to have an $800 bike dustin' up in the garage.
