My wife just bought a Rocky Mountain Metro 50. Same bike as the Metro 10, but with higher end components (disc brakes, better shifters etc) but the frame is the same. She absolutely *loves* it. It rides really well, she commutes on it daily (about 20 mins each way) up a really long and steep hill (up hill one way only

).
The bike seems well made and is *very* light. She went from an old clunker to the Rocky Mountain and she now loves biking. She'll go out of her way to make her commute longer because she enjoys riding so much more.
I don't know much about the Trek, but just wanted to give you a good news story on the Rocky Mountain.
