I would find a shop to work at. At my work guys and girls new to the bike industry start as bike washers (they take apart drivetrains as part of the cleaning) then move into smaller quick fixes as work their way up. I was luckly to get into the buisness my BMX sponsor offer me a job out of high school working on BMX bike and I moved up from there to be head mechanic of a shop.
