For less than 2500, you can get the CAAD9 frameset built up with ultegra/rival/centaur or whatever and a great set of wheels for race day and Open pros/ultegras for training.

Remember that if you're racing, you might end up crashing your ride and need to replace it. So buy a great ride (like the CAAD9) and save enough money to do it all over again if something happens.
