I feel your pain. This happened to me on my (brand new ) cross bike on a trail ride. Caught a stick in the chain. First snow of the season, too. I usually carry a chain tool, but didn't have it that time. I coasted 3 mile sof trail and 4 miles of road back to my room, often reaching speeds upwards of 5mph!



Oh, and did it just break? That's odd. Anyways if it isn't warranty I've had great luck with derailleurhanger.com. Here's what they sent me, arriving just a few days after the order. Old hanger is on the left, next to the new one:


If you save the receipts they give you a free fifth or sixth one or something. Hopefully it will take me at least a few years before I get there though. I'm up to two in about 8 months .
