The Easton article has it right. Most people are complete bozos when it comes to proper torquing sequence (and torquing steps) for the wheels on their cars, let alone something a little more fragile and dependent on skill like a 4-bolt stem. Elimination of the 'idiot factor' is behind the 2 bolt design. It's still remarkable how many people think they can guess the correct torque for small bolts (cue the multitudes of 'experienced' idiots here who claim they can every single time).
