i use a (halogen) schmidt E6 lamp, it's plenty bright for me. and soon i'll be wiring in a tail light too!

hooray for self-powered systems, i say screw batteries.
I'm still waffling back and forth on what to get. My decision comes down to the DiNotte 600L/200L combo, or a SON28 with an E3. For the convenience with my commute, and distance rides starting in the wee hours of the morning and going into the dark of night, I like the dyno. For the ability to remove everything for a minor weight savings on daylight-only rides, I like the battery lights.
I do more riding in the dark than I do in the daylight, so I think the dyno is winning. There's still all summer to think about it. I'm not buying anything until the short days come slinking back in the fall.
