this topic was recently covered on the road forum and at the time, out of curiosity, I checked on my wife's 03 centaur group,my own 04 & 05 centaur road groups as well as my 05 & 06 chorus groups and the few pieces of 01 thru 06 record gear that I own. all of those components were clearly marked on the parts (as well as on packaging that I kept )as being 'made in italy'.
included amoungst those are 2 carbon cranks (05 & 06 chorus), 2 carbon seatposts( 06 chorus, 05 centaur), 06 carbon chorus ergopower levers, 04 & 05 proton wheelsets(marked on both the rims and hubs), 01 nucleon wheelset (rims and hubs), etc..

where you got the "word" regarding taiwanese production, i do not know. the only speculation that I've encountered at all had surrounded the romanian plant and at least up to the 05/06 model years, several sources including campagnolo, usa and the previously mentiond campagnolo, it. press release has indicated that component production has been entirely italian.
perhaps you should give campagnolo, usa a telephone call for the latest updates and report back? I'm sure they'd graciously provide you with the information you require.
