Drilling a hole through the center of my fork?
I bought a zefal low rider front rack for a little tour I'm taking, and it requires a hole in the center of the fork that is not there. I can't use a clamp to attach it do to the design of the rack - I don't think there is any way to attach it without having a hole in the center of the fork.
My question is this will drilling a hole in the center of my fork significantly weaken it to the point of potential calamity? Or will it probably be fine? I've heard from people saying that it will make my fork super brittle unless I can weld the screw into the hole I drill or something - however I don't have access to a welder.
Advice? Tips? ridicule?
Thanks!
