If it's a carbon post in a carbon frame, use some Tacx assembly lube instead of grease. It also works well for carbon/aluminum, aluminum/carbon, aluminum/steel (though grease should still allow it to stay) or aluminum/aluminum. For titanium I prefer using anti-seize compound to prevent galling.

You'll also want to check to see if it's the right size post for the frame.

Grease or anti-seize the seatclamp QR threads and lube the cam for better torque.

If it's a removable clamp, look into a beefier model.
