It was actually a job - $7.63 an hour (WA state minimum wage). I had to apply and be selected for a crew of 5 out of something like 200 applicants.. after writing an essay and including my school transcript, imagine that, writing an essay so I could pick up piss bottles in 90 degrees weather for a month. But it was one of the only ways that 15 year olds could legally work something like 37.5 hours a week back then, since it was under the WA State Ecology Dept.
Thanks everyone else for all the advice. I will probably even make a bulleted list of these great suggestions and try to keep them in mind. Anyway, my job starts Tues and I'm very excited.
