Polish Grandma

Last night, after 1:00 but before 2:00 AM I was riding home up Archer Ave, which is generally deserted at that hour, when I spotted a cyclist in the distance. As I got closer I saw it was a 3 wheeler, the kind your Grandmother would ride. Closer still I saw a 70ish woman wearing baggy plaid flannel shorts (they looked like pajama's) and a brassiere, and I mean only a brassiere (the big kind, left over from the 50's). Actually, it's not that unusual, I live in a Polish neighborhood and have often seen Polish Grandmothers mowing their lawns wearing only brassieres. She was tooling down the sidewalk as happy as you could be and on the otherwise crowded street I said a very nice hello and how are you doing tonight. "Very good," she said in her thick Polish accent, "how are you." We exchanged smiles and went home and slept the sleep of the just.
