I think your problem is Alberta. Anywhere else, you don't put on a jacket to go for a ride in the summer. Around these parts we'd call that "spring" or "fall" (well, except for this year, which has been almost the coldest and longest freakin' winter on record all over the continent).

Canadian winters are long and brutal enough that I simply could not live anywhere else than southern Ontario, where at least you get a good and long blast of heat in the summer.
