A couple of 2x4's with the usual Lowe's bicycle hooks screwed in, then the assembly is lag bolted to the wall framing. Works real well, very low cost:
Not sure if it would make any difference, but I hang all my bikes by the back wheel. Somehow, the rear stays strike me as being a lot stronger than the fork. Of course, I've seen it done by the front wheel, and have yet to see any ill effects. I just tend to be cautious.
