Yeah, black would be more stealth but, from what I've seen, it isn't as bright as the silver. Function over form in this case.
I am mainly concerned with reflective bits helping with rearward oncoming views, I see very little, if any, real benefit from having it on the front/sides. Besides, the wheels tape shows great from the front and 1/4 angles.
