Being a bit paranoid abut getting caught out on a ride with no way to get back I carry both CO2 and a frame pump!
Most of my rides are in the wee hours of the morning (5:00 AM to 6:30 AM) so I don't want to be without a way to get home.
Recently I used my pump (Topeak Road Morph) and loved the ease of use! The pump converts to a mini floor pump and actually works!! The other feature I like is the flexable hose instead of clamping the pump to the rather delicate presta valve!!
I still carry the CO2 but I may never use it.
The guy at the LBS had a good point when he said, "pumps never run out of air."
