You're the one asserting, as you always do, that the one defining factor in most cyclist's disdain for WallyWorld bikes is
elitism. It's not, they are simply crappy bikes. The fact that:
1. You do not even own one, but instead ride dependable,(yet inexpensive,) practical and beautiful bicycles.
2. The fact that you cannot find a single working bicycle mechanic to support your position. Go ahead and try.
3. The fact that these bikes are not repaired, simply exchanged, and safety recalls seem to be a matter of course for these manufacturers, (been paying attention to how many safety recalls of products from mainland China there are? I haven't, and yet I
still hear about them all the time.)
These are all indicative of the fact your position is simply untenable, but I'm sure you get some bizarre psychological gratification from insulting people who prefer quality over the merely
cheap. I could go on and on about how McDonald's is just as good as a Four Michelin Star meal but it would reflect badly on
me, not a professional chef or fine dining.
Also, I realize that seniors are often very bowel-conscious, but if you tell your nurse to give you a little Metamucil, I'm sure your attitude will improve greatly.
