I have completed painting the fork and dropout. I masked off the crown to the best of my ability and gave the rest a sanding, prime, and about 6 light coats of automotive paint that I had matched at Robert Automotive on Dundas W. I haven't given them a clear coat. The paint still feels soft after a couple weeks of drying. I know a spraycan job won't last forever (or even a season) but for some reason I am hesitant of clear coating it, maybe because the original paint job is matte. Any thoughts?
