Who here has been on an epic ride and ended up getting lost in the woods? How did you find your way back?

A few weeks ago Me and a friend decided to explore some trails we hadn't ridden yet. We figured that they would connect with the main trail a couple of miles down. Well, 14 miles later and out of food and water we still had no idea where the main trail was. To make matters worse, the trail became unrideable so we had to carry our bikes. Finally, after being lost for 3 hours we found the main trail. 7 hours later, we finally made it back to the car completely exhausted. All I know is that everytime I think back to that day, it brings a smile to my face. It was a great day.
