Well at least that part is true. 65 gear inches is roughly eq to a 39/16 which for most roadies is their small c-ring and 1/2 up the cassette. We use that gear for climbing, not flatlands since it would be too easy of a gear.

If ppl truely can't keep up with you with that gear ratio, I guess they are pretty slow. But remember, you are not going all that fast either.

One last note: Last I checked, most FG riders ride on the road, which makes us roadies too. If you are a FG MTB rider, I bow down to you.
