I have the Gary's on my monstercross bike and I love them!

That being said, if you are used to regular drops or a cut-down flat bar on the street, they will seem incredibly wide. Also, it can be difficult to get the proper positioning with stem length and rise. There is a good article on Alt-bar setup in Dirt Rag #130, but I can't find the article online.

For the price, you can't beat the Gary's. If you're looking to have some fun on fire roads and light singletrack, they're the bomb. I would try to cop a ride on the road before I bought them if I wanted to use them around town.
