As much as I would love a $140 dollar saddle I just don't have the money, but I need to do something if I want to ride. Today I've ended up with terrible groin pain, and pain in the sits area again, I know I'm out of shape and I need to just get back in the swing of things, I just don't want to damage anything

Saddles come in a variety of shapes, sizes and prices. As Dminor said, get fitted, choose something in your price range and try before you buy.
