$250 Reward!!!
my little brother's bike was stolen 04.08.08 in manhattan (not sure the exact location as i forgot to ask). a $250 reward is being offered for the return of the bike in its complete (or close to complete) form. call rob @ 617.438.1092 or 352.339.5708
(almost how it looked when stolen. stem is a black fuji quill, matching rear brake, bars were wrapped, not sure if it had the cahin guard on or not...)
sad emotional back story: (feel free to skip, i just need to vent to some like minds)
i restored this bike from a unridable, mud covered, rusted up, junkyard find into a functional, decent looking urban commuter. it started as a promised christmas gift to my little bro that i finally got around to completing. i've had stuff stolen from me, expensive stuff, things i was attached to, etc. yet i have never felt this upset before. it isn't the loss of the value in the components, the hours & energy i spent cleaning & polishing every fastener, nor the fact that i don't have a rideable wheelset as i gave him mine.... what really upsets me is that riding this bike was the first thing, the only thing, my brother has really enjoyed doing since completing rehab. it was truly a blessing to hear him so excited, and to know he had something he could enjoy and look forward to doing. hes gone through some really hard times and to hear that something he was so proud of, a common bond that finally brought him some sense of joy, was taken away from him for a quick buck or whatever... just makes me sad.
anywho, im sure there's a million peugeots rolling around nyc, but if you happen to see it and have a chance to flag down a cop or make a phone call or whatever, it would be a very appreciated deed! thanks!
