I can't agree more. I don't understand why both critics and proponents act like a fixed gear bike is worlds apart from all other bicycles.
I think as the market becomes more saturated with "street oriented" fixed gears, more people will realize they are just another style of bicycle; therefore getting rid of the "exotic trend" factor and cementing them as just another part of the cycling world.
