That's kinda interesting. Never really thought about that. I studied hymenoptera (ants and bees) for several years in my skooling days and always thought it was remarkable how clueless a single ant or termite was, yet as a colony they accomplished great things- 12 foot tall mounds, orientated to magnetic north with extremely effecient air exchange, the uber-precision of a honeycomb that is simutaniously manufactured by thousands of bees from different directions etc.
